Terms & conditions

Your DJ - Terms & Conditions

1. Your DJ is a third party agency supplying DJs known under a signed,

contracted agreement. We will hire the DJ to suite the circumstances of

your event. We take into consideration the cost, location, type of event,

information supplied by you, size, guests etc. The quality of our events

is very important to us. Please read the following terms and conditions

carefully prior to signing any booking form or paying your deposit.

2. We will not be held liable for non-fulfilment of this contract by the

management, hirer, or the DJ although every reasonable precaution

will be taken. In the event of the client seeking compensation, we will

not be held liable under any such claim, and the contracted DJ will

only be liable for a sum up to and not exceeding the contracted amount.

Your DJ reserves the right to amend or withdraw the terms & conditions

(as listed below and online), promotional offers and any written, printed,

verbal or displayed (including internet resources) at any point.

Bookings & Payments

1. All bookings are only confirmed upon payment of your deposit.

All deposits are non refundable. Your DJ reserves the right to accept

another booking for the date until your deposit is paid and the

booking form has been sent back to us signed.

2. We reserve the right to cancel any bookings we feel are inappropriate

or not safe for our DJs. Our booking form contains all necessary questions

relating to your event. If you withhold or supply false information, which

may affect the amount we may charge or we may cancel your booking at

any point or demand that the full payment is made.

3. For one off events, such as weddings and birthday parties Your DJ must

be paid the remaining amount in cash prior to setting up. If you require an

invoice please notify us within three days of the event-taking place.

4. We require no less than 14 days notice for each booking and deposits

must be cleared within one week of the event-taking place.

5. All bookings should be taken in the understanding that the venue is

in possession of all the necessary entertainment, safety and liquor

licences. We are not responsible if the venue is found to be in breach

of any law or required licence.

6. All regular events and non “one off” events (such as pub events)

need to be paid in full within one week after the event taking place.

For regular events Your DJ will require you to sign a contract and pay

one event upfront as a deposit. This amount will be paid to the DJ at the

end of the contract. If you cancel the contract prior to the finish date this

deposit will not be refunded. For all regular events we will send you an

invoice.

7. For all events not paid on time a charge of £10 per week / £40 per month will

incur on top of the total payment due until the required amounts are settled.

We will issue only two reminder letters. Non-payments will then result in court

action after 2 months, which will include an £80 charge on top of pre explained

interest. If you think you may not keep up payments we offer the option of paying

up front with a 5% reduction.

8. Your DJ, unless arranged prior to booking, is being paid for four hours play time.

Any extra-required playtime will cost £25 per half hour. It is the responsibility of

Your DJ to request this amount at the start of your event. Your DJ reserves the right

to finish performing at the contracted time and pack up if he or she does not want

to carry on the performance.

Cancellations:

1. Any cancellations must be made within 30 days of the event-taking place. The

deposit will not be refunded. Full payment will be charged if the booking is

cancelled within 30 days of the event. This includes any short notice bookings.

2. All events are signed in a contract between you and Your DJ. If, in the unlikely

case that Your DJ does not attend your event for any reason we will try our best

to find a similar substitute. If the cancellation is because of our negligence then

we will refund your deposit. Any legal action must be taken between yourself

and Your DJ.  If the cancellation is because of unforeseen and uncontrollable

circumstances not resulting in any administration negligence by us then we do

not accept any responsibility for any payment or loss of earnings whatsoever.

Setting up Packing up

1. It will take approximately 1-2 hours to set up/pack up with a short travelling

distance from the parking spot and the location the event is taking place. It is

the customer’s responsibility to advise prior to paying the deposit of

obstructions of any form (such as crowds of people, flights of stairs or long

distances to carry equipment) as this will mean that pack up and set up will

take considerably longer. Your DJ takes no responsibility if playtime is

shortened due to unforeseen obstructive circumstances.

2. If you require more than two hours for Your DJ to set up

please notify Your DJ prior to booking and pay the required sum.

3. Your DJ will require at least three metre-squared space to set up and at least

two plug sockets near to the performance area. It is the your responsibility

to check this prior to booking. If Your DJ finds that he/she must set up in

inappropriate conditions he/she reserves the right to restrict the performance

as agreed in the contract/agreement or, in the worst circumstances to cancel

the event altogether, and the full amount is still liable to be paid.

4. It is your responsibility to make sure that there is at most 5 metres space

between the performance area and two plug sockets. It must also be safe to

lay any electrical or audio wires across this space. Any accidents, damages

or loss of power resulting in poorly layed wires between the power points

and the performance area is your responsibility.

5. Please note that not all equipment is not suitable for narrow corridors /

door openings, stairs/elevators and uneven surfaces. It is your responsibility

to notify Your DJ of any obstructions to the performance area. Your DJ may

not set up if he or she feels that it is not practical to set up in these conditions

then full payment will be required without any performance.

6. A charge of £25 must be paid for upstairs venues when booking as it takes

twice as long to setup and packup. This option is on the booking form. If this

information is not disclosed to Your DJ Your DJ reserves the right to add this

amount on to his/her payment. They also reserve the right not to set up at all

if they feel that your venue is either not safe or inconvenient to set up. In this

case payment in full will be required from Your DJ.

Security and safety

1. In the event of fire, power failure, flood, public disturbance, aggressive or

abusive behaviour, terrorist activity or any other threat to the public,

Your DJ will not be responsible to evacuate any venue, building or outside

event. Although Your DJ will try to announce any health and safety issues

and turn off all equipment if possible, Your DJ reserves the right to stop

performing and leave the venue until deemed safe by an official health

and safety officer or police / fire team member. No refunds or discount

are available in these circumstances.

2. All persons and guests are responsible for the health and safety of themselves and

those around them. A responsible adult should supervise children at all times and

insurance and PAT certificates. As the customer it is your responsibility to notify

us prior to the event of any issues relating to the safety of your guests and Your DJ.

Your DJ reserves the right not to set up if he/she thinks that it is not safe to do so.

Equipment and Your DJ

1. The pictures and videos of equipment on our website and promotional materials

may be different to that supplied at your event. All of our DJ’s are encouraged to

use the best equipment possible to cater for the size, cost and suitability of your

event. We have lists of all of our DJ’s equipment and if you would like a

description of the equipment to be supplied please contact us prior to your

event-taking place. If you do not think this equipment is not suitable then

please inform us one week prior to the event-taking place.  No discounts or

refunds are available if you do not think the equipment is not suitable on the day.

2. Your DJ has the right to refuse any individual from participating in any form

of entertainment if he/she feels that the individual appears to be intoxicated

or has a medical condition, which may result in damage to himself or herself,

Your DJ or equipment.

3. Under no circumstances must any person not employed by Your DJ use or

tamper with any performance equipment unless given permission by Your

DJ. Any damage incurred following intermitted tampering will result in a charge

for the full cost of any damaged equipment.

4. Any damage to Your DJ’s equipment resulting from you or your guest’s actions

is to be paid in full within one week of the event. This includes replacing or

repairing lost or broken equipment. Court action will occur if payment is not

received by this time.

5. Your DJ reserves the right to take photo’s and videos during and after the

performance. This will be used for promotional and commercial purposes.

If you or your guests do not wish to be photographed or videoed please

contact us within 7 days of the event and display relevant warning notices

during the performance.

6. We reserve the right to refuse any event at any time, which either/or has a sound

limiting device or poor in-house sound equipment in which Your DJ feels is of

an inferior quality as it may damage Your DJ’s equipment and/or looks/sounds

unprofessional.

7. If you or your guests have any disabilities or dislikes regarding lighting, sound

or any other form of performance service please let us know before the event.

We accept no responsibility whatsoever for any damages to the health or personal

issues of your guests. All DJs will play to a volume appropriate to the event. If you

or your guests do not like loud music then please do not sit in front of the speakers!

Outside events

1. All outside events are subject to the weather conditions of the day/night. Any

undercover outside event must be provided by the customer. If adequate cover

is not provided, Your DJ reserves the right to finish early or not begin the event

due to the risk of damage to equipment or health and safety to Your DJ and the

events guests.

responsibility for any damage resulting in power failures and surges. We accept

no responsibility for loss of power.

3. We will not be held liable for non-fulfilment of this contract by the management,

hirer, or the DJ although every reasonable precaution will be taken. In the event

of the client seeking compensation, we will not be held liable under any such

claim, and the contracted DJ will only be liable for a sum up to and not exceeding

the contracted amount.
